Community Description
Helen Deem Kindergarten is centrally located in St Clair, within easy walking distance of the beach and local cafés. We celebrate our culturally and linguistically diverse community, with many of our children learning English as an additional language. The kindergarten operates Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, and remains open during term breaks.
We take pride in offering a creative, well-resourced programme, complemented by an extensive outdoor learning environment. Our environment and philosophy encourages children to be courageously curious, and develop as capable, confident learners as they learn through play. Our experienced and knowledgeable kaiako embed our key learning priorities into our programme: social and emotional competency (Kotahitanga), oral language and communication (Mana Reo), and kaitiakitanga (guardianship and care for the environment).
